Verdante Bioenergy Services (VBS) has quickly become a recognized leader in the bioenergy sector. The company is primarily engaged in locating, securing, aggregating and brokering biomass feedstocks to companies engaged in the business of refining or otherwise extracting energy from biomass. VBS is organized under the parent company Whistle Pig Enterprises, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company since 2009. From 2002 through 2009, the company operated as a sole proprietorship and was engaged in a diversified agricultural enterprise such as contract growing, brokering of specialty produce, and service of direct buyer arrangements in the agricultural sector. In 2009, founder George David Waechter of Lenoir, NC, discerned a new business was set to expand in the agricultural and forestry sector: bioenergy. Waechter moved the business focus to this growing area by establishing a strong network of bioenergy suppliers, vendors, and professionals.
